Inglourious Basterds is a 2009 war film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino

theaters in the United States and Europe in August 2009 by The Weinstein Company and
Universal Studios.
The film was successful at the box office, grossing $320,351,773 in theaters worldwide,
making it Tarantino's highest-grossing film to date. It also received multiple awards
and nominations, including eight Academy Award nominations and winning the Best Actor
Award at the Cannes Film Festival and the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor
for Christoph Waltz.
